Recently a colleague of mine posed an interesting question in one of the forums I frequent (DFWHipHop.com). Everyone was simply asked to recap 2008 and determine if it was successful for you or not.

As far as I’m concerned, 2008 for me was successful. I can't complain at all. I’ve tried to grow every year.
  • 2005 was about trying to find direction.
  • 2006 was about learning the game as member of Metro Muzik: The Union.
  • 2007 was about coming up as a member of Metro Muzik: The Union.

"As the Year of Heartbreak”, 2008 was mainly about growth and exposure and emerging from my mentor’s Mr. Kuwn-Dalini's shadow. After a 21 month run promoting events/concerts/showcases with Mr. Kuwn-Dalini and Metro Muzik: The Union, I set out on a mission to make a name for not only myself but the CWC Entertainment Group, LLC brand.

Media Coverage - Either myself and/or events I promoted or co-promoted received media coverage on FOX 4, ABC 8, Dallas Observer, Quick DFW, D210 TV, Dallas Morning News, 97.9 The Beat, 94.5 K Soul, KKDA 730 AM, North Dallas Gazette and many, many more.

Dream Team 2008 – In breaking away from Mr. Kuwn-Dalini and Metro Muzik: The Union, I needed to work with different people. I made a list and called it Dream Team 2008, getting to work with people I respected like Koch Records Recording Artist Pikahsso, Jazzy Williams, Hip Hop Recording Artist G.O.A.T., Promoter Vigilante, Entrepreneur Charles "CITY" Gbadebo, D210’s Vernon Hadnot amongst others.

The Vincent Tucker Radio Show (www.VincentTuckerRadioShow.com) – My first business move post-Metro Muzik: The Union was The Vincent Tucker Radio Show. As a joint venture between CWC Entertainment Group, L.L.C. and Not Like The Others Entertainment, The weekly program aired exclusively on the 360 D Radio Online Network beginning December 2007. Once we gained a following and starting receiving syndication offers from other online radio stations, we re-negotiated our agreement with The 360 D Radio Online Network. Since being allowed to expand our audience in July 2008, we've now amassed 13 syndication and content partnership deals in place, reaching an average weekly audience of 87,000 worldwide. Big plans in place shortly...stay tuned.

D210 TV! (www.D210.tv) - 2008 also saw yours' truly becoming VP of Operations for D210 TV! (D210.TV). I started an intern program, brought in members from the Dream Team 2008 and help lay some foundation for the fledging TV Show. I officially left the show this month but I wish those guys the best on everything. Unfortunately, I had to forfeit my membership on the T.O.M.I. Magazine board when I signed on to D210 TV! But there are no hard feelings at all!

Event Host - 2007 was the beginning, 2008 was the year I stepped out there. Being called on by various promoters in the Metroplex to host, I hosted everything from Artist showcases, to charity events to parties to Social Gatherings. (Cheap Plug: Now taking bookings until April 2009. Let me know!)

Register To Speak Out! / Rock The Vote - In January, Ean Pegram with UnDevco made a post on the forum mentioned earlier that he was disappointed no one was making a stand and encouraging people to take advantage of the political process. Following up on a four year dream, I launched my own voter registration effort entitled "Register To Speak Out!" in May 2008. Shortly after I recruited Charles "CITY" Gbadebo to join the cause and we helped register new voters across the United States. In July 2008, Rock The Vote announced I became the official Dallas/Fort Worth Team Leader for the 20 year organization and I had to shift my focus a little bit.

Philanthropic Moments - Pikahsso Saves The Homeless / B-Day Bash......This was the event that started the year off for me. The only people to give me credit for my influence in this event was Pikahsso, Tahiti, Picnic & Jazzy Williams. With that said....I realize they'll be the only ones that will so I'm moving on.....

Other Philanthropic moments for me included partnering with G.O.A.T. to raise over $1200 for breast cancer research proving that Hip-Hop does care about the community. I partnered with Gregory Hearns to raise $1500 for Diabetes as We participated in "Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes." I can't forget the two kids events I hosted with the Underground Hip-Hop Academy, entertaining underprivileged kids in "Lil' Mexico." Every month...I'm in the kitchen at The Salvation Army Center across the street from Parkland feeding the homeless.

He or she who says I'm not in the community...just doesn't read! LOL

I could keep going but I'll just say visit me online at www.VincentTucker.com for more details!!!!
