What's good peoples? It's Vincent "Young Heartbreak" Tucker here! Up early.....7:42 am on a Sunday Morning. I'm about to turn on the radio and listen to Pastor Rickey Rush and get the word for the day!
I was asked how I felt about the Presidential Inauguration by Dallas South Blogger Shawn Williams during a radio interview 10 days ago. thought since I was up, I'd express my official thoughts concerning Barack Obama becoming the 44th President of the United States post Inauguration.
Let me first say this was my first Presidential Inauguartion that I've ever observed. I was impressed with the whole setup. It might sound weird but what did it for me was when Barack walked George Bush out to the other side of Captiol Hill to see him off. I thought it was cool that the Former President and New President from two different parties were cordial with each other and telling jokes.
Unity, Change, Coming Together. This was some of the things President Obama talked about in his Inaugration speech. The above scenario described some of that. Whether you love or hate George W. Bush, please understand its HARD to be the President of the United States. I feel like you have to give him that. It could have been worse.
But back to Barack, him becoming President is much bigger to me than him being black. While I don't want to minimize that he's the first African-American to achieve that feat, I'm more proud of Obama because I feel he'll promote Unity, Change and Coming Together.
We're in/headed to hard times. We'll only come back if we change our ways, unite and come together. (You like how I used "Change" "Unity" and "Come Together" in the same sentence! LOL)
Anyway, stay lite and thanks for all those people that Charles "CITY" Gbabedo and I got to register to vote and actually voted. You made the whole political experience fun for me.
Till Next Time,
Vincent "Young Heartbreak" Tucker
